Some changes at a glance:
- Overall Union target: strive for 45 % (mandatory 42, 5 %) renewable energy in line with the REPowerEU plan.
- Greenhouse gas emissions: To reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 % from 1990 levels by 2030
- Bioenergy:
o Principle of cascade use of biomass.
o The material use of biomass is given priority over energy use (exceptions possible)
- Biomethane: produce 35 billion m3 of sustainable biomethane annually by 2030 at the latest

- Sustainability aspects must be complied with for all systems from 200 Nm3

- Transport: combined share of advanced biofuels and biogas to be 1% of transport energy supply in 2025 and at least 5.5 % in 2030 (share of renewable fuels of non-biogenic origin at least 1 %)
