The estimated biomethane potential would be based on around 75 billion m3 of anaerobic digestion and 37 billion m3 of thermal gasification. The largest producers would probably be Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom. The study also provides an overview of novel feedstocks and potential-enhancing technologies.
