A key step towards achieving this target is the recently published national biomethane strategy. The strategy is based on five pillars that are considered essential to achieving the target:
- sustainability;
- demand for biomethane;
- bioeconomy and circular economy;
- the economic viability of biomethane and
- political requirements.
Each pillar is aligned with twenty-five strategic measures.
